A mesh-panelled bandage maxi in black, where the panels read as shadow and the silhouette does the talking. Mesh panels are set into a bandage body, so the dress compresses where it needs to and opens where it does not — two fabrics doing opposite jobs in one garment. The panels are placed at the waist and along the sides, where the eye reads them as shaping rather than as exposure. Floor length, close through the body. For parties and evenings out.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
