Recommended Body Measurements
These are recommended body measurements — your measurements, not the garment's.
We are unable to publish measured garment dimensions. The figures below are standard body measurement ranges for each size, intended to help you choose. They are not taken from the garments themselves.
⚠ Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one
Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting. This means the usual advice to size up does not apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend the smaller size. Sizing up on a relaxed cut usually results in a garment that feels oversized.
This is the opposite of what many size guides advise, so it's worth reading twice.

Swimwear
Swimwear uses the same body ranges as Dresses & Tops above, with one important difference:
Swimwear is cut closer to the body than the rest of our range. For swimwear only, if you are between sizes, take the larger size.
Shoes
Shoe sizes are shown on each product page as a US and EU pair — for example, US 8 / EU 40. We don't publish a conversion chart, because we can't verify how each style is lasted, and a generic chart could point you to the wrong size. If you're between sizes or unsure, email us at contact@thealif.com and we'll help before you order.
How to measure
Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm below the waist.
Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
If you're unsure
Fit varies between styles, fabrics and cuts. If you're uncertain about a piece, email contact@thealif.com with your measurements and the item you're considering, and we'll advise before you order.
