A draped asymmetric maxi in purple, the richest of the four and the one that needs no accessory at all. An asymmetric flap crosses the front and drapes to one side, so the dress is built from one continuous piece of cloth rather than from seams — that construction is what gives it movement without gathering. The cloth holds the drape without slipping and keeps the weight down over a full length. No embellishment; the shape is the whole idea. For receptions, dinners and evenings where a plain dress with a strong line beats a decorated one.

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
