A deconstructed lace knit top in red, where the lace panels show lighter than the knit around them. Lace panels are set into a knit with the seams left visible rather than finished away, so the join between the two fabrics is the design. The knit gives and the lace does not, which is why those seams have to be engineered rather than simply sewn. Hand wash and dry flat. For evenings out rather than daytime.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

These are general body measurement ranges used across the fashion industry, not measurements taken from our garments. Use them as a starting point.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
