A cropped bomber in white, the harder of the two to keep but the one that lifts a dark outfit instantly. It reads as summer outerwear more than winter. Cut short to sit at the waist, which is what makes a bomber work over a dress as well as with jeans — it stops above the widest point rather than cutting across it. Ribbed cuffs and hem hold the shape and keep the volume where it belongs, at the body rather than the hip. In cotton, so it softens with wear rather than staying stiff. No stretch; size for a layer underneath if you will wear it over knitwear.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
