A collared draped maxi in white, the more relaxed of the two and the closest thing here to a shirt dress at full length. A shirt collar on a floor-length draped dress — a deliberately odd pairing, and the reason it works is the contrast between a structured neck and a body with no structure at all. The collar gives somewhere for the eye to rest; the drape does everything below. Cut in cotton, which holds the collar's shape and the drape's fall at the same time. For daytime events, travel and evenings that started as afternoons.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
