A rhinestone gown in yellow, warm and unusual for formalwear — the stones read cool against a warm ground. Rhinestone set across the bodice and thinning down the skirt, so the density fades rather than stopping at a line. Rhinestone throws harder light than crystal, which makes this the brighter of the two registers and better suited to artificial light than daylight. The skirt falls plain below. Floor length, no stretch. For galas, prom and formal evenings.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
