A split-sleeve crystal gown in black, the sharpest reading — the crystal edging is the only line visible until the sleeve opens. The sleeve is split along its length rather than closed, so the arm shows through as you move and the sleeve behaves closer to a drape than a covering — an unusual construction, and the whole reason this dress reads differently from a standard long-sleeve gown. Crystal is set along the split edges, which draws the line. Floor length, no stretch. For galas and formal evenings where the movement of a dress matters as much as its shape.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
