A leaf-embellished gown in black, where the crystal climbing the skirt is the only thing catching light and does so from the hem upward. Leaf-shaped crystal work climbs from the hem rather than sitting at the bodice, which reverses the usual arrangement and draws the eye down the length instead of up. The result is a gown that reads quiet from the shoulder and detailed from the waist. Floor length with no stretch, so the fit is cut. It suits galas and formal receptions where you want embellishment without the whole dress announcing it on arrival.

Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
