A cross-over slit maxi in red, where the slit shows the colour moving and the wrap holds the line. A cross-over front wraps one side across the other and the slit opens where they part, so the opening is created by the construction rather than cut into the cloth. That means it moves with you instead of holding a fixed shape. Floor length, no embellishment. For receptions, dinners and evenings that involve walking as much as standing.

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
