A backless silk maxi in floral print, softer than the leopard and the more daytime-capable of the two. Cut in silk, which is the whole reason this dress falls the way it does — silk has weight without stiffness, so a backless cut stays put instead of shifting, and the front hangs straight from the shoulder. The back is open to the waist. There is no embellishment; the cloth is the luxury. Silk marks with water and creases readily. Hang it rather than folding, keep it out of direct sun, and have it dry cleaned.

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
