Crystal-set herringbone trousers in brown, warmer than grey and better with cream and tan than with black. Trousers cut in herringbone wool with crystal set into the weave, made as the counterpart to the shirt in the same cloth — worn together they read as a suit, worn apart each half works with plainer clothes. The herringbone runs the length of the leg, which lengthens the line, and the crystals follow it rather than scattering. Wool holds a crease and hangs straight. Size for the waist; the leg is cut with room.

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
