An off-shoulder belted midi in black, the most formal reading and the one that goes anywhere. An off-shoulder neckline with a belt at the waist, which is a more structured combination than off-shoulder usually gets — the belt gives the dress a defined middle instead of letting it fall. Midi length puts the hem between knee and ankle, so it works for an office event and for dinner afterwards. Cut in cotton, comfortable enough for a full day. Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
