A sequin-over-satin gown in mint, cool and pale — the least expected way to wear this much sequin, and the lightest in feeling. Sequin worked over satin, so the dress carries real weight and hangs straight rather than clinging — satin underneath is what gives the sequins a ground to sit against and stops them reading as loose surface. Floor length, no stretch, so the fit is cut. This is the heavier end of eveningwear and it moves slowly, which suits it. For galas, prom and formal receptions held after dark.

⚠ Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
