A crystal-set herringbone shirt in brown, warmer than grey and closer to a tweed in feeling than to a suit. A shirt cut in herringbone wool with crystal set into the weave, which is an unusual combination — tailoring cloth carrying evening decoration. The herringbone gives the surface direction, and the crystals catch that line rather than sitting on top of it. It works buttoned under a blazer for an office and open over a plain top for an evening. There is a matching trouser in the same cloth if you want the full suit.

⚠ Our cut runs relaxed — if you're between sizes, take the smaller one

Most of our pieces are cut easy-fit rather than close-fitting, so the usual advice to size up doesn't apply here. If your measurements fall between two sizes, take the smaller one.

Swimwear is the exception — it's cut closer to the body, so for swimwear only, take the larger size.

These are general body measurement ranges used across the fashion industry, not measurements taken from our garments. Use them as a starting point.

Shoes

Shoe sizing varies by style. Most of our shoes show a US and EU pair — for example US 8 / EU 40. Some styles show a single number instead. If you're between sizes or unsure which system a style uses, email contact@thealif.com before ordering and we'll confirm.

How to measure

Bust — around the fullest part, tape level, arms relaxed.
Waist — the narrowest part, usually just above the navel.
Hips — the fullest part, roughly 20cm (8") below the waist.

Keep the tape snug but not tight, and measure over underwear rather than clothing.
